Following my initial soul searching of should I, shouldn’t I report a person, I contact the police to inform them that a convicted paedophile whom was subject to an prevention order, one that was designed to keep under 16’s safe from such an individual was breaching his order, using a false name and carrying on as if he was the pied piper. Sadly the police officer whom I contacted from the sex offenders unit was not bothered and simply did not take any action.
The knowledge that I had, played upon my mind, what if, what is the person doing?, are they grooming others! After all they were again in a position that allowed them access to children! I could not ignore what I knew and decided to take action and in doing so I contacted the UK & Ireland Database who in turn contacted Sara at the Front Page Story Agency.
My concerns were taken seriously. The UK Database carried out their searches to check on the information that I provided was correct and took action enlisting Sara’s help. I can honestly and whole heartedly say that my concerns about anonymity were taken seriously and I was reassured throughout, I was doing the right thing, after all so many people knew the truth about the individual, however they decided that they would not speak up! We do all need to speak up!! Children are our future and with that said they deserve to live without the fear of those that prey upon them.
Following the UK & Ireland Database’s, the agency and a national newspaper’s investigations the story went viral. At last I thought to myself, at last action will be taken and this individual will not be able to continue to prey on those whom he had previously done so. Thanks to the investigations carried out, the outcome is one of prison. My concerns of coming forward were throughout eased and I was reassured, with a just conviction and my knowledge that I have done the right thing. I have an inner peace, knowing that I took the positive action, that the UK & Ireland Database combined with the help of the Front Page Story Agency and the Sunday Mirror have the interests of those whom are vulnerable firmly in its sights and above all that this individual will not be able to groom or harm others for some time ahead.
If you know any information, from either a registered offender or anyone whom is abusing, then I urge you, do not hesitate to step forward, your identity will be kept guarded and you will be helping potential victims, by not allowing any individual or group from abusing them. I cannot thank the UK & Ireland Database, Sara at the Front Page Story Agency and the Sunday Mirror Newspaper enough, they have carried a vital service, one that sadly needed as the authorities seem unable to.
